Eduard Brunner

 

 

Began his musical education in Basel/Switzerland; the city of his birth. Further studies were continued in Paris. Upon graduation he became principal clarinettist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich under R.Kubelik, a position which he held for twenty years. At present he holds a professorship for clarinet and chambermusic at the Hochschule für Musik in Saarbrücken/Germany. Concert engagements have taken Eduard Brunner to all parts of the world, both as soloist and as a member of various chambermusic ensembles, with colleagues such as G.Kremer and A.Brendel. Amidst a score of other activities, he is repeatedly engaged as a guest artist at music festivals. In addition to his concert activities he tutors several master-classes internationally per year. Eduard Brunner has recorded well over 180 works for clarinet under several labels. Recently the complete edition of the 10 clarinet concertos by C.Stamitz were realised on CD.
