Norma Enns

                                                      

Born in Manitoba, Canada; studied Music Education majoring in viola at Brandon University; began vocal studies with Prof. Sylvia Richardson. 1970 she joined the Waterloo Symphony and String Quartet, taught, and continued vocal studies with Prof. Victor Martens. Summer courses with prof. Theo Lindenbaum, first stage experience. 1971 she was named assistant to Prof. Martens, Wilfried Laurier University. 1973-1978 she studied in Hannover, Germany with Prof. Wm. Reimer and Prof. C.Spolvint, finishing the Opera Diploma and Concert Diploma. Norma Enns is an internationally acclaimed concert singer, known especially for her interpretation of the vocal repertoire of the 20th century. Her virtuosity and uncompromising musicianship are documented at many recordings. She is Professor of Voice and 20th century music at the Hochschule for Music and Theater Arts in Hannover.
