Tatjana Schatz-Geringas
She comes
from a musician family in Moscow and had her first piano lessons when she was
five years old. Her teacher was her father, who himself was a student of
Neuhaus. She had her first public performance at the age of 18 with Mozart's
A-major piano concert. She became a student of professor Heinrich Neuhaus' master
class at the Tchaikovsky conservatory. Together with the cellist player David
Geringas, Tatjana Schatz-Geringas studied quite a number of music works, and
she played with him for Mstislav Rostropovich. The duo became her great
passion. In 1970 David and Tatjana Geringas had their debut in the "Great
Hall" of the Moscow Conservatory. The artists emigrated in 1975 and are
now living in Hamburg. Their first recordings for Ariola Eurodisc and many
concerts all over the world followed the well-noticed debut of the duo at the
"Ludwigsburger Schloßfestspielen" in 1977.
