Born in
Delmenhorst in 1926, he studied the kettle drum and percussion at the
Conservatory in Bremen. After having finished his studies he worked in Bremen
and Kiel. From 1951 to 1991 Schober was a chamber musician (solo kettledrummer)
in the Staatsorchester Hannover and from 1965 to 1991 he taught at the Hannover
Academy of Music and Theatre Arts. He went on tours in Germany and foreign
countries. From 1969 to 1993 he was a member of the "Festspielorchester
Bayreuth".
