Born in
Gdansk/Poland in 1953. He studied in Warsaw, Freiburg and London, winning
prizes at many international competitions including the Spohr/Germany and Montreal
International Competitions. He won the Szymanowski Competition in Warsaw (1977)
and the Lipizer Competition in Italy (1984). The nationally and internationally
known concert artist is Professor for violin at the Hannover Music Akademy, and
regularly holds master-classes in Europe and in the USA. Krzysztof Wegrzyn is a
member of the jury at many international violin and chamber music competitions,
and he is founder and Artist Director of the Hannover International Violin
Competition.
