Moris Bonfeld, 

DPh, an outstanding scientist, a teacher, Corresponding Member of the International Teacher's Training Academy of Sciences (Russia), Professor, Head of the Music History and Theory Chair, Vologda State Pedagogical University (Russia), Member of the Union of composers of Russia, Member of Advisory council of the RussSME 

has suddenly died on December, 9th, 2005 

It is with much sadness that I hear of Prof. Bonfeld's sudden death. I had  the priviledge of meeting Prof. Bonfeld and being acquainted with his work when I was visiting Russia last year. Russian music educators suffer a great loss with the demise of Prof. Bonfeld. My condolences to his family and my Russian colleagues for this loss.

It is with great sadness that we received the news that Moris Bonfeld has passed away very suddenly. This is a great loss to the academic and music community. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his colleagues, RussSME, of which he was a member of the Advisory Council, and to his family.
