Rosalind Plowright
Rosalind
Plowright is one of Britain’s leading sopranos with a major international
career. Her 1984 recording of Leonora in „Il Trovatore“ with Placido Domingo,
conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini, was nominated for a Grammy Award, and she
personally was awarded the „Prix Foundation Fanny Heldy“ by the „Academy
Nationale du Disque Lyrique“. The same year she also appeared at the Royal
Opera House Covent Garden as Maddalena in „Andrea Chanier“ with Jose Carreras and
as Aida wirh Luciano Pavarotti. Miss Plowright has appeared at most of the
worlds great opera houses. She recently made her role debut as Santuzza at the
Staatsoper Berlin with great acclaim.
