We offer special all-in-one courses from early childhood to professional music education. Namely, children (4 years of age and up) and students develop absolute pitch, quick long-term music memory, deep understanding and appreciation of classical music, and the skills needed for easy, enjoyable music composition. Any further or concurrent study of a musical instrument is made substantially easier and a lot more fun by the fundamental, rudimentary, as well as expert skills developed in these courses. We guarantee tangible results to every child, teenager, and student. After having taken our course, every single student, without exception, entering a German Musikhochschule (university of music) passed the Ear Training and Theory of Music Entrance Examination. We use the patented Brainin Teaching Method, which has been presented at numerous international music education conferences as well as seminars and master-courses in Amsterdam (Holland), Vienna and Salzburg (Austria), Florence (Italy), Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russia), Pretoria and Stellenbosch (South Africa), Winchester (England), Tampa (USA) and Hannover (Germany).
The seminar will start on Sunday, July 18 (10.00 a.m.) in the Musikschule Brainin e,V. and continue from Monday, July 19 (10.00 a.m.), to Friday, July 23, 1999 (17.00 p.m.) in the Hochchule für Musik und Theater Hannover. The registration of the participants will take place on Saturday, July 17 from 18.00 to 21.00 p.m. in the Musikschule Brainin e.V. The master-course is 30 hours (6 hours a day) and will cost DM 350 (about US $200). Those who will pay before April 1, 1999 will receive a refund of DM 250. The fee is relatively low because of sponsoring by Tolstoi Hilfs- und Kulturwerk Hannover e.V., Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover, and Musikschule Brainin e.V. The lessons will be conducted by Valeri Brainin and his assistants. The language will be English. Friday, July 23rd, will be reserved entirely for presentations by the participants in the course. We therefore invite participants to submit abstracts. The topic is ‘DEVELOPMENT OF MUSICAL THINKING’ or ‘EFFECTIVE METHODS OF EAR-TRAINING’. Every presenter will get 60 minutes (including discussion). That means that only 6 presentations could be accepted. The presenter will receive a full refund of the fee. In every case the fee has to be paid first. There will be no partial/full refunds under any circumstances other than those stated above. Those who will send an application and will not come will loose the fee. Abstract of the presentation must not exceed 300 words. You will also have an opportunity to present posters on the same topic. The poster-presenters will not get a refund. The space for poster-presentations is also limited. Please send an abstract of no longer than 100 words. Your Abstract and Curriculum Vitae will be published in the seminar-proceedings pamphlet. In order to publish the seminar pamphlet we ask you to send your Abstract and Curriculum Vitae as a Word for Windows file (on a 3,5 floppy-disk, CD, or by eMail).
Hannover is the city of world fairs. This means that inexpensive hotels are often booked. If you would like the organizers of the course to provide you with inexpensive accommodation (about US $50 per day, or possibly even less) and inexpensive food of good quality, we must receive confirmation from you of your participation as soon as possible. This latter option might be convenient for you since we would be able to place everyone in the same hotel making interaction between participants easier. We might also receive a group discount, hence lowering cost per person. A list of inexpensive hotels in Hannover and its suburbs is also enclosed for those who would prefer to arrange their own accomodations.
Please ensure early registration. Additional charge-free places are stipulated for the students and teachers of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. Applications must be received no later than June 1, 1999.
In Hannover, summers are usually warm.
Hannover has pleasant suburbs, ancient castles, museums (amongst which
is the Museum of Modern Art with Picasso’s and Chagall’s works - one of
the best in Europe), and we hope that all of us will not only learn something
new but will also have a pleasant rest. On Saturday, July 24, we plan to
visit Schloss Marienburg – a Castle of the last King of Hannover as well
as Sprengel Museum - the Museum of Modern Art. If you are interested, please
let us know.
